Monk Chat Program

An opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with Buddhist monks, learn about their way of life, and gain insights into Thai culture and Buddhism.

What is Monk Chat?

Monk Chat is an informal program where you can talk with monks, ask questions, and exchange cultural viewpoints. It’s a wonderful way for monks to practice their English and for visitors to get a glimpse into the monastic world.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. There are no fixed topics, so you are free to discuss anything from daily life and customs to deeper questions about Buddhist philosophy.

When and Where?

The Monk Chat sessions are held at Wat Suan Dok, one of Chiang Mai's most historic temples. Sessions typically run on weekdays. We recommend checking the schedule at the temple upon arrival as times can vary.

How to Participate

No registration is required for the informal chat sessions. Simply visit the designated area at Wat Suan Dok during the program hours. For more structured programs or meditation courses, please see our registration details.
